Accents & Dialects: New York Accents -September 17 (Ages 12-18)

New York class –  From Guys and Dolls to Newsies actors are often called on to perform a New York accent.  Ah – but there’s more than one and they all sound a bit different!  In this class we’ll explore the basics of the New York accent and then take a trip to the Bronx, Long Island, Brooklyn and Manhattan to hear how each one has its own particular sound! 

Class is at The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati on Sunday, September 17, 11:00am – 12:30pm. 

Teacher: Diane Senffner 

Bio: Diane has taught accents and dialects all over the world!  She has done theatre in Cincinnati, Chicago and Phoenix and is also a speech pathologist. Living in the UK was a gift to her phonetics profession but she has yet to meet an accent she cannot coach. So happy to be back in Cincinnati after a 28 year hiatus in Arizona.
