AcademyLIVE! 101 Dalmatians! (Performance Class Ages 6-11) Sundays 2:15pm – 4:00pm

Are you ready to put on an entire show?! In this class, young performers will audition, rehearse, and perform an entire musical with lights, set pieces, and cast t-shirts with costume accessories! This experience is an excellent opportunity for a performer who is ready to put their talents towards practical use AND for the performer seeking an introduction in how to put an entire show. No pre-audition required. Every student enrolled will have a part in the show! Auditions will take place on the first day. All material for the audition will be taught at TCT on the first day of class! We will have 1 public show at TCT on the last day of rehearsal. Performers will also receive a cast shirt, and a digital link of their filmed performance. All students enrolling MUST have black jazz shoes (no laces) and black jazz or athletic pants with no logo or writing on them at the beginning of the class.

Shelby Coleman

Teacher

Shelby has a background in theatre education and dance that has led her across the country. She is the Education Director at Stage Right MTC Inc and most recently was the Director of Artistic and Educational Programs with the Surry Arts Council in North Carolina where she directed, choreographed, designed and taught for students throughout North Carolina and Virginia. While there, Shelby was the founder and instructor of a dance studio specializing in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, West African, clogging, flat foot, musical theatre and pre-pointe. Shelby has a background in teaching students diagnosed with various physical, mental, and learning disabilities.  As the creator of the Special Friends Program in North Carolina, she spear-headed the implementation of the arts as a support for furthering social, emotional and LifeSkills learning for Exception Children classrooms and Post K-12 LifeSkills groups throughout the state. Shelby has taught at various institutes across the country including Lexington Children's Theatre, Shooting Stars YouTheatre, Missoula Children's Theatre, StageRight MTC Inc, Morehead State University, Surry Community College, Surry Arts Council, Ryle High School, Surry County Schools, Milennium Charter Academy, Cincinnati Public Schools, Boone County Public Libraries, Kenton County Public Libraries, Grant County Public Libraries and now The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati.
