Rules & Prohibited Items at The Emery Theater
General Policies
All guests entering the Emery Theater are subject to a metal-detector screening by way of walk-thru magnetometer and/or wand, visual inspection, and possible bag inspection conducted by TCT/Emery Theater personnel. We ask that you please…
- Be prepared to pass through the screening process. This will consist of passing through the magnetometers.
- Arrive early and be prepared for additional security measures.
- Limit items brought to the building.
Prohibited Items
- Alcohol
- Aerosol spray cans (insect repellant, hairspray …etc.)
- Animals (except service animals).
- Fireworks or incendiary devices of any kind
- Glass, metal, or hard-plastic containers
- Canned water
- Laser pointers
- Professional cameras. Cameras with detachable lenses. GoPro/Action Cameras or any video/audio recording device
- Posters/Signs larger than 8.5”X11”
- iPads, laptops or other similar devices
- Whiteboards or other similar items
- Weapons of any kind (regardless of concealed carry permit)
- Tools (Wrenches, pliers etc.)
- Hard-Sided Coolers
- Non-medical masks or non-medical face coverings
- Musical Instruments
- Inflatables
- Selfie Sticks
- Pointed Tip Umbrellas
- Club Colors
- Spiked Jewelry or any type of chain
- Stickers
- *Any other item deemed unacceptable by The Emery Theater staff

Guest Conduct
Guests may be ejected for reasons including, but not limited to, the following-
- Smoking
- Public intoxication
- Use of illegal substances or drugs
- Disruptive behavior
- Use of profane, obscene or abusive language of any type
- Possession of illegal or unauthorized items inside the theater
- Unacceptable or indecent dress
- Throwing of any objects onto the stage area, or in the seating area
- Verbally abusing, threatening or intimidating performers, other guests or Children’s Theatre/Emery Theater employees
- Participating in a fight
- Entering or attempting to enter “Authorized Personnel Only” areas such as the stage area, backstage, behind points of sales, or others that are marked
- Breaking the law
- Any action that, in the opinion of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati/Emery Theater management, places other guests in danger or reduces their enjoyment of the event
Guests that are ejected from the facility may be subject to arrest. Ejected guests will not receive a refund for their tickets or be compensated in any way for their loss.
Smoking Policy
The Emery Theater is a smoke-free facility.
